Idan Avigdori

Idan Avigdori was born in 1989, in Haifa, Israel. He received his BSc degree in Material Science & Engineering and BA degree in Chemistry (both cum laude) from the Technion in 2016. That same year, Idan joined the group of Prof. Mark Gandelman as a master's student, working on the development of nitrenium ions as Lewis acids in frustrated Lewis pairs (FLPs). After one and a half years, Idan moved to the PhD direct track, furthering his investigation of nitrenium chemistry. Idan plays the keyboard and the French horn . Also, Idan loves watching NBA games, curiously waking up at 3 a.m. on weekdays to watch the playoffs.

Zeqing Chen

Zeqing Chen was born in 1994 in Qingdao, a coastal city located in eastern China. He received his BSc degree in Applied Chemistry from East China University of Science and Technology in 2016. After he finished his Master degree in chemistry at Queen's University Belfast in 2018, he joined the group of Prof. Mark Gandelman as a PhD student. His work focuses on enantioselective cross-coupling reactions with titanium reagents. At his spare time, Zeqing enjoys running very much and has accomplished several marathons in different countries.
